Third country nationals departing from or arriving in Malta may be randomly selected to pass through one of the biometric passport control lanes.
Here, you may be asked to provide your passport, take a photo or scan your fingerprints. For the time being, no registration is required from the passenger’s end ahead of travelling through Malta International Airport.
Passengers can expect a longer waiting time while these checks are taking place.
